Donaher will not accept a legislative pension to save taxpayer money

Hanover Township, PA (July 9)– Dean M. Donaher of Hanover Township, Northampton County, Democratic nominee for State Representative in the 138thLegislative District, has announced that he will not accept a legislative pension once elected to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives when eligible.

“As someone who already receives a pension, there’s no need for me to ‘double dip.’ I’m running for State Representative to make a significant and positive difference in my community, not to receive another pension check,” said Donaher.

As Pennsylvania’s government faces budget challenges annually, Donaher wants to do his part to ensure that the Commonwealth’s taxes are being directed to initiatives that matter in our local communities: job creation programs and educating our youth.
