Donaher endorsed by the Pennsylvania Sierra Club

Hanover Township, PA (August 14)– Dean M. Donaher of Hanover Township, Northampton County, candidate for State Representative in the 138thLegislative District, has been endorsed by the Pennsylvania Sierra Club.

“I am honored and grateful to have the endorsement and support of the Pennsylvania Sierra Club especially at a time when the Commonwealth’s natural environment is under attack on many different fronts including from our federal government,” Donaher said.

The Sierra Club is committed to promoting clean energy solutions to move the nation beyond dirty fossil fuels like coal, oil and dangerous nuclear power, and towards a safe, clean energy future built on energy efficiency, clean energy, and American innovation. Since their founding in 1892, the Sierra Club has protected America’s wild places and wildlife. In addition, their organization works to protect public health and ensure safe and healthy communities that are free of toxic air and water pollution.

In a letter to Donaher, Dave Hemberger, Pennsylvania’s Sierra Club Political Chair said, “our endorsement sends a message of your strong support for the environment and your proven track record in environmental issues.” In recent weeks, Donaher has come out against the slated sludge plant development in Plainfield Township that would have dramatic and adverse impacts on the local natural environment in several Northampton County communities.

“As State Representative, I look forward to working with our federal, state and local leaders to ensure the protections of our natural environment, treasured farmland and open spaces well into the future.”
