Donaher Endorsed by PA AFL-CIO and AFSCME District Council 88

Hanover Township, PA (June 15)– Dean M. Donaher of Hanover Township, Northampton County, Democratic nominee for State Representative in the 138thLegislative District, has announced that he has been endorsed by the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO and the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME) District Council 88.

“I am honored to have received these endorsements from organizations that advocate for working families in so many communities. My upbringing was humble, and I was always taught the value of hard work. Throughout my career, I have always supported what’s best for our workers, and will continue to do so in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives,” said Donaher.

The Central Labor Councils receives recommendations from across the state and with input from the federation’s 51 affiliate unions. The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO then endorses candidates who align with their vision in the Gubernatorial, U.S. Senate, Congressional, State Senate, and State House races.

The President of the Pennsylvania AFL-CIO, Rick Bloomingdale, said, “The labor movement is filled with grassroots activists from all walks of life and backgrounds. We proudly endorse candidates that support working people’s rights to join a union, earn a living wage and retire with dignity.”

AFSCME is the nation’s largest and fastest growing public services employees union. District Council 88 represents approximately 15,000 workers in Pennsylvania’s southeast region.

“Many of our parents and grandparents always worked very hard, but never had the protections they deserved in the workplace. While we’ve come a long way over many decades, we still have challenges to overcome. I will work tirelessly in the coming years for all workers in our community,” Donaher said.
